Rec2Rec, mapped from where recruiters have worked

In Rec2Rec the candidates and the clients are the same few hundred firms. hyreflow reads dated career histories to show which agencies feed a team and which are taking its people, and reads growth signals to find the agencies about to hire.

For a Rec2Rec desk, hyreflow maps the market you already know by name.

  1. AgenciesA prompt
    You give it

One agency and the desk you care about, or the kind of agency you place into.

hyreflow samples the people on that desk, reads where each one joined from and where the leavers went, and ranks the agencies on both sides. On the client side it reads growth signals across your market and finds the director who owns the hire.

What a Rec2Rec desk can read that a job board cannot

Recruiters move between a small number of firms. That movement is the data.

Career histories

Dated work history, from people databases

What it reads
  • The consultants on one desk at one agency, by title and region
  • The employer each of them joined from, with the year
  • A sample of leavers, and where they went
What that tells you

Which agencies feed a competitor's team, and which ones are hiring its people away.

A sample of dated career histories, not a census. The output prints the sample size, and a leaver is only counted once the dated history confirms the move.

Agency growth

Company changes

What it reads
  • A new office opened
  • A reported rise in headcount
  • A run of roles first seen recently
What that tells you

Which agencies are growing, and so tend to need consultants and someone to lead them.

Strongest for larger agencies. A boutique of ten people leaves few of these traces, so small firms are better worked from a list you name.

Agency deals

Announcements, read from the source

What it reads
  • Acquisitions and mergers announced in your market
  • Headcount cuts and reorganisations
  • The announcement itself, for who bought whom
What that tells you

Which agencies have just changed hands, where consultants tend to look around and the buyer tends to hire.

Covers deals that were announced. A quiet management buyout or a team move leaves no announcement to read.

What the data usually means for your desk

A signal is a reason to call, not a guarantee. Each one links to the play that works it.

  • When you see

An agency opens a new office or reports a jump in headcount

    It usually means

Someone has to build the new team. A leader tends to be hired first, then consultants around them.

  • When you see

An agency is acquired or merges

    It usually means

Consultants on the acquired side often take a call they would have declined a month earlier.

  • When you see

A director or team lead leaves an agency you watch

    It usually means

A desk without an owner. The agency usually needs a replacement, and the team may be open to a conversation.

  • When you see

An agency on your list starts advertising for consultants

    It usually means

The need is open and budgeted. Worth a call before the role has been out for long.

The same map, pointed at your clients

Name the kind of agency you place into. hyreflow reads the growth signals across that market, ranks the ones showing two signals above those showing one, and finds the director who owns the hire with a verified work email. Run the off-limits screen and your own clients are dropped from a sourcing list before it is loaded.

  • Every signal carries its date and its source
  • The director or managing partner at each agency, with a verified work email
  • Your off-limits list applied to sourcing, with a report of who was dropped and why

Rec2Rec recruitment, answered

Something else? Bring it to Open Office, the weekly open call.

How does hyreflow find recruiters for a Rec2Rec search?

From the agencies you name. It pulls the consultants on the desk you care about, scores each one on dated work history, applies your off-limits list, and returns a personal email or a LinkedIn profile for each. A second play starts from people who have said publicly that they are open to work.

Can it show which agencies a competitor hires from?

Yes. For one agency and one desk it returns two ranked tables: the employers its current people joined from, and the employers its leavers went to, each with a count, the years of the moves and the sample size. It is a sample, not a census, and the output says so.

Can it see a recruiter's billings?

No. Billings are not public and hyreflow does not estimate them. Candidates are scored on what the record shows: tenure, promotions, the sector they recruit in and the agencies they have worked for. Billings are a question for your call.

How does it know an agency is about to hire?

It reads growth signals: a new office, a reported rise in headcount, or a run of roles first seen recently. An agency showing two of these ranks above one showing a single signal, and every signal carries its date and source.

My clients are also where my candidates work. How is that handled?

With your off-limits list. Clients, agencies under agreement and anyone already in process are screened out before a sourcing list is loaded or a contact detail is paid for, and you get a report of who was dropped and which rule dropped them.

Does it work for in-house talent acquisition roles?

Yes. The sourcing plays take the titles you give them, so a search for an in-house talent partner runs the same way, drawn from the employers you name.
