Construction recruitment, starting from the contract win

A firm needs people when the work is confirmed, not when the job ad goes up. hyreflow reads contract wins and growth signals, and finds who has to staff the job behind each one. Add your own Shovels account and it reads US building permits too.

For a construction desk, hyreflow starts where the work starts: the contract.

  1. A marketA prompt
    You give it

Your market: the sectors, the geography and the kind of project that creates demand for your desk.

  2. +45 more
    hyreflow does

hyreflow reads the contract wins and growth signals announced in your market, filters them to the firms that fit your desk, and finds the person who has to deliver the work at each with a verified work email.

  3. Call list readyReviewRun end to end
    You decide

Review the list before anyone is contacted, or let it run through. Either way the note is about the work they have just taken on.

Where the work shows up before the advert

Most contractors never post a job ad. These are where their need appears first.

Contract wins

Announcements, read from the source

What it reads
  • Contract awards and framework wins announced in your market
  • New client and partnership announcements
  • The original announcement, not a summary of it
What that tells you

Which companies have won work they now have to staff, and who has to deliver it.

Covers work that was announced publicly, in any country. A quiet subcontract leaves no announcement to read.

Growth signals

Company changes

What it reads
  • A new location opened
  • A reported rise in headcount
  • A run of roles first seen recently
What that tells you

Which firms are growing faster than their job adverts show.

Strongest for larger contractors and consultancies. Small trade firms leave few of these traces.

Building permits

US permit data, on your own Shovels account

What it reads
  • Permits pulled in a city, county or zip code, inside the dates you set
  • The contractor on each permit, by trade
  • How active a contractor is, from the permits they have worked on
What that tells you

Which contractors in your area have just taken on work, before they advertise for crews.

Runs on your own Shovels account, which Shovels bills directly. United States only. A permit shows that work is confirmed, not that the contractor is short of people, so the play qualifies by size and activity first.

What the data usually means for your desk

A signal is a reason to call, not a guarantee. Each one links to the play that works it.

  • When you see

A firm announces a contract or framework win

    It usually means

A delivery team has to exist by a date. The person named to deliver it is the one to reach.

  • When you see

A firm is advertising several site roles with no recruiter of its own

    It usually means

A manager is carrying the hiring alongside the job. Often open to help.

  • When you see

A role has been advertised for weeks and reposted

    It usually means

The direct route has not worked. A specific candidate tends to land better than a pitch.

  • When you see

With your own Shovels account: a contractor pulls several permits in your trade

    It usually means

Work is confirmed and crews have to be found. Often the earliest sign there is, in the United States.

And the people to put on site

Give hyreflow the role and the patch. It returns a ranked shortlist with the reason for each name, and mobile numbers for the handful you are about to call, because site people answer the phone before they answer email.

  • Scored against the role on evidence, not on job title
  • A second play matches your own ATS, so you call people you already know
  • Mobiles for the people you chose to call, and only them

Built in, plus the tools you already run

Company signals and contact lookup are part of hyreflow. Permit data runs on your own Shovels account, and your ATS and your sequencer plug in through the accounts you already have.

Construction recruitment, answered

How do building permits help a construction recruiter?

A permit is one of the first public signs that work is confirmed. With your own Shovels account connected, hyreflow reads the permits pulled in your area and trade inside the dates you set, identifies the contractor on each, qualifies them by size and activity, and finds the person who runs hiring. Shovels bills that data to your account, not to hyreflow credits.

Does the permit data cover the UK or Europe?

No. The permit data is United States only. Outside the US, the same job is done with contract wins and growth signals: who announced work they now have to staff, and who is opening a location or advertising a run of site roles.

Can I search by trade and by area?

Yes. The permit play takes an area down to city, county or zip code, a trade, and a date window. It returns the contractors pulling permits that match all three.

Does a permit mean the contractor is hiring?

Not by itself. It means work is confirmed. That is why the play qualifies contractors by size and how active they are before it spends anything on contact details, and why the note it drafts is about the work they have taken on, not an assumption that they are short of people.

Can it find mobile numbers for site candidates?

Yes, for the people you choose. You name the handful on the shortlist you are about to call, and mobiles are looked up for those and nobody else. Each number shows where it came from, and a row without one says why.

Does it work for small trade contractors who are not on LinkedIn?

That is what permit data is for, on your own Shovels account. A small contractor may have no company page and no job adverts, and still appear on permits. The play starts from the permit and works towards the person, not the other way round.

Give it your market

Connect hyreflow to Claude or ChatGPT and ask which firms in your market have just won work, and who has to staff it. Review the list first, or let it run.
